16 October 2017, Dubai, U.A.E. --- The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates in partnership with the United International Private School (UIPS) held the 3rd episode of the PCG’s The History Hour hosted on its FB Page Philippine Consulate General in Dubai, handle: @PHinDubai.
The October episode highlighted tourism in the Philippines in view of Tourism month in September, issues on Indigenous peoples in view of Indigenous People’s month in October, and UNESCO issues in view of UN day which falls on 24 October. School faculty and students from the UIPS discussed Philippine tourism endeavors including destinations in different regions and the preservation of tourist attractions and the importance and contribution of indigenous people to tourism. The live broadcast drew the viewership of some 3500 individual FB accounts and reached some 9000 FB feeds at the end of the broadcast hour.
The Consulate’s The History Hour is a monthly live broadcast of the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai that aims to hopes to create a greater sense of awareness of Philippine history and culture using social media and information technology. The first episode in May 2017 attracted 1500 views and reached 5000 feeds.
The 3rd Episode has thus far reached over 5200 views, counting total viewership two days after the live broadcast. END
