The public is invited to a joint seminar on Philippine civil registration laws and procedures as well as marriage and family laws in the Philippines and UAE at the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi on 25 April 2014, Friday, 1:00pm to 7:00pm, and at the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai on 26 April 2014, Saturday, 1:00pm to 7:00pm.

The joint seminar will feature the Hon. Undersecretary Carmelita Ericta, Interim National Statistician of the Philippine Statistics Authority (formerly National Statistics Office). Undersecretary Ericta will be accompanied by Director Lourdes Hufana and Director Joseph Cajita. They will talk about Philippine civil registration matters such as birth, marriage, divorce, death and petitions for correction of clerical errors in civil registry documents.

The joint seminar will also feature Atty. Barney Almazar and his colleagues from Gulf Law. They will talk about Philippine and UAE laws on marriage and family matters such as illegal affairs, annulment, legal separation, divorce, child custody/support, UAE family courts, wills and inheritance, marrying a foreign national and domestic violence.
