The Consulate General of the Republic of the Philippines in Dubai and the N. Emirates commemorated the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution in a simple ceremony held last 25 February at the PCG Lawn.

Following the morning’s flag raising, Consul General Frank R. Cimafranca in a brief message urged all present to keep in their hearts the meaning of EDSA and to continue the struggle against oppression. He also stated that because of EDSA, the Philippines was heard all over the world, and it served as an example that a people could free themselves from the clutches of tyranny through peaceful means.

Shortly after EDSA Revolution, various peaceful revolutions swept oppressive governments in Europe and elsewhere.
