Officials from the Consulate General of the Philippines in Dubai and N. Emirates visited the Dubai Police Headquarters last 9 January 2013 to call on Drug Enforcement Director Colonel Faisal Issa Mohammed Al Qasimi and discuss programs and opportunities for cooperation.
Vice Consul Geronimo Suliguin who led the officials of PCG Dubai was accompanied by ATN Officer Moh’d Javier Pukunum and Cultural Officer Ma. Cecilia Pilar Caparas. Colonel Faisal Issa Mohammed Al Qasimi was accompanied by Major Mohammed Salim Mohammed Al Muhaimi.
Colonel Al Qasimi expressed his thanks to the officers of the Consulate General as well as all the Filipino nationals in Dubai who, aside from having the third biggest expatriate population in Dubai, are known to be trustworthy, respectful and obedient to UAE rules and laws.
Further, he stated that his office is open for any help and assistance they could extend to the Consulate General and to the Filipino Community and hinted on possible areas of cooperation that his office and the Consulate General could work on for the benefit of the general population. He likewise noted the assistance of the Consulate General in helping promote moral values to the Filipino Community.
Vice Consul Suliguin likewise expressed his thanks on behalf of the Consul General as the group was well received. He said that the Consulate General appreciates the continued support of the Dubai government to the PCG and to all Filipino nationals staying in Dubai. Moreover, he stated that the PCG is open to and welcomes the notion of doing projects with the Office of Director Al Qasimi.
Lastly, Vice Consul Suliguin stated that the Consulate General shall continue to work hand in hand with Dubai authorities and shall be an effective partner in matters beneficial to both parties.
