The Philippines through the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) is participating in the Host Cities Summit 2012, a two day exclusive summit bringing together current and future host cities from emerging nations with heads of leading sporting associations. The Philippine delegation is composed of Domingo Ramon C. Enerio III, TPB Chief Operating Officer, Stanie D. Soriano, and Nedalin L. Miranda of M.I.C.E. and Business Development Unit.
Cognizant of the importance of the summit, and in line with the mandate of the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) to market the Philippines as a major meetings, incentives, conventions and events (M.I.C.E.) destination, the Philippine delegation seeks to explore the possibility of the Philippines hosting medium-sized sporting events in the future.
To maximize the Philippines’ presence, TPB hosted a networking lunch on the first day of the summit on 4 December, and promoted “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” tourism brand campaign. Giveaways, brochures, and other promotional materials were provided to all the delagates.
The summit theme “Effective strategies for winning and hosting major sporting events” will provide decision makers with an opportunity to meet and network, and prospective host cities with the opportunity to learn from those who have successfully hosted major events in the past.
The summit runs from 4-5 December at Meydan Hotel, Dubai, UAE
