Pag-IBIG President and CEO Atty. Darlene Marie B. Berberabe headlined a forum with the leaders of various Filipino organizations in Dubai and N. Emirates last 15 November at the Consulate General of the Republic of the Philippines’ POLO office.

Atty. Berberabe discussed the benefits of being a Pag-IBIG member as well as the loan facilities that they offer. She also highlighted how Pag-IBIG is continuously adapting to address the different needs of the Filipino household not just in housing and housing related services but that of the well-being of the home owners as well. This is being done through product and service developments especially tailored to specific needs of the member.

Aside from discussing the merits, products and services, Atty. Berberabe also provided concrete examples how Pag-IBIG is changing the lives of its members and the beneficiaries.

The case of the late Lourdes Rabe, an expatriate working in Hong Kong, stood out. Ms. Rabe was an active Pag-IBIG member who died in an accident. Her membership was instrumental in providing her beneficiaries with death benefits, the entire portion of her PagIBIG savings, and a house and lot which she secured through a Pag-IBIG loan and mortgage redemption insurance.

A lively discussion with the community followed after the presentation.

Vice Consul Geronimo Suliguin expressed his gratitude and highlighted the importance of the forum since Pag-IBIG is very much a part of every Filipino’s dream of owning a house. The services that Pag-IBIG provides have helped many Filipinos toward the realization of that dream. Labor Attache Delmer Cruz closed the program in his remarks.

Atty. Berberabe’s delegation included Amado Isabelo I. Dizon III, Vice President International Operations Group, Nanette Gerarda T. Abilay, Special Assistant to the Corporate Head II, and Juanito Angelito A. Jareno, OIC Overseas Operations. The Dubai visit was the last in the Middle East swing that included meetings and discussions with Filipino groups in Doha and Abu Dhabi.

While in Dubai, Atty. Berberabe’s group also graced the Filipino segment in Dubai Eye and anchored the Pag-IBIG Day/ Housing and Jobs Fair with accredited Dubai Filipino organization FilHR at Al Safa Stadium from 9am-6pm last 16 November. The delegation also met with Pag-IBIG partners like collecting banks as well as an audience with a representative of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce.
