The Consulate General of the Republic of the Philippines in Dubai and the Northern Emirates held a simple ceremony to acknowledge and award the certificates of accreditation to various Filipino organizations at the PCG premises last 21 August 2012.

A total of 65 organizations were given accreditation for the period 1 July 2012-30 June 2013. The number shows an increase of 97% from the previous year with 33 organizations accredited. Of the total number, 22 are first time applications.

In his short message, Vice Consul Geronimo Suliguin echoed that the PCG encourages dynamic, diverse and united Filipino organizations that foster camaraderie and goodwill among its members and endeavor to promote what is good, what is true, and what is beautiful in the Filipino and the Philippines. He stressed that the Filipino organizations are capable of creating bridges of understanding and are effective channels in facilitating communications, assistance, and other services of the Consulate General.

He also praised the Governing Council of FilCom Dubai and Northern Emirates under the able leadership of Mr. Alan Bacason for working hand in hand with the Consulate General and was a true and effective partner in the undertakings made.

Leaders and representatives of the organizations graced the said event which was organized under the Cultural Desk of the PCG headed by Cultural Officer Ms. Cecilia Caparas.
