The Consulate General of the Republic of the Philippines in Dubai and N. Emirates received a letter from the Office of the Vice President Hon. Jejomar C. Binay extending his sincerest gratitude to Consul General Valeriano “for taking time out of your busy schedule and attend to my activities during my visit to Dubai, UAE, last June 23-24, 2012”. The Vice President was on his way from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where he represented President Aquino to express the country’s condolences and sympathies to His Majesty, The King, on the passing of His Majesty, The Crown Prince.

Moreover, the Vice President extends his thanks to the officers and staff of the PCG for “their all out support and cooperation on the success of my visit”.

During the visit, the Vice President took time to speak and listen to the wards of POLO’s FWRC and headed to Fujairah to visit the Filipino Community there. He also took time to visit two Filipino seamen who suffered severe burns when the gas tank on their vessel exploded in June. The Vice President was also briefed of the status and working conditions of the Filipinos in the said northern Emirate.
