24 March 2018, Dubai, U.A.E. – The Consulate General of the Philippines organized its 3rd Town Hall Meeting for 2019 with Secretary of Education Leonor Magtolis-Briones on 22 March 2019 at the Rizal Hall of the Philippine Consulate. The meeting provided a venue for the faculty and school administrators of Philippine Schools Overseas in Dubai and the Northern Emirates and other interested partie to learn about the Philippine government’s programs relating to education.
Secretary Briones shared that the K-12 program, which was launched in phases in 2013, is now in full-cycle implementation. She added that there has also been significant developments in the student-teacher and student classroom ratios due to the increase in government spending and investment on the education sector of the country.
The school representatives, in return, expressed their interest and willingness to participate in annual inter-school competitions being organized by DepEd such as the Palarong Pambansa and the National Schools Press Conference and to actively take part in assessment programs in ensuring the successful implementation of the DepEd programs overseas.
