Puerto Princesa Underground River Unveiled at Philippine Pavilion 

7 February 2022, Dubai — A "Wonder Marker" for the Philippines' Puerto Princesa Underground River, one of the New7Wonders of Nature, was unveiled today at the Philippines Pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai. 

The unveiling of the marker, which was held simultaneously with the other New7Wonders of Nature countries such as Brazil, Colombia, Peru, South Africa, Indonesia, and Vietnam, was led by New7Wonders President and Founder Bernard Weber. He was joined by the Philippine Ambassador to the UAE H.E. Hjayceelyn Quintana, Philippine Consul General in Dubai Honorable Renato Dueñas Jr., Philippines’ Department of Trade and Industry Assistant Secretary for the Trade Promotions Group and PH Expo 2020 Dubai Alternate Commissioner General Rosvi C. Gaetos, and New7Wonders Director Jean-Paul de la Fuente.

The Puerto Princesa Underground River, an 8.2-kilometer natural subterranean river with limestone karst landscape, was voted one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature that has so far generated over 600 million votes. The other New 7 Wonders of Nature are the Amazon (Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guiane, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, Venezuela), Ha Long Bay (Vietnam), Iguazu Falls (Argentina, Brazil), Jeju Island (South Korea), Komodo (Indonesia), Puerto Princesa Underground River (Philippines), Table Mountain 

(South Africa). END
