The Consul General personally checked on the status of stranded Filipinos bound to Riyadh at the transit area of Dubai International Airport.

23 January 2022, Dubai, UAE – Consul General Renato N. Dueñas, Jr. of the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai met with stranded Filipino passengers of Philippine Airlines flight PR 654 at the transit area of the Dubai International Airport to ascertain their condition and wellbeing while waiting for their onward flight to Riyadh, KSA. The 280-passenger flight of which 85% are Filipinos, was diverted to the Dubai International Airport due to technical issues. The Consulate is in constant communication with the airline to ensure the passengers’ safety and welfare. The airline has provided the stranded passengers with meal vouchers and designated waiting areas for those travelling with infants and children. The Consul General assured the stranded passengers that the Consulate stands ready to assist them and provided, for their reference, the ATN Section’s hotline numbers.

As of this writing, PR 5654 is scheduled to depart Dubai on 23 January 2023 at 10:40pm, and is estimated to arrive Riyadh on 23 January 2023 at 11:50pm. END
