OFFICIALS FROM THE PHILIPPINES AND MOHRE DISCUSS THE CONDUCT OF LICENSURE EXAMINATIONS

26 April 2023, Dubai, UAE - Consul General Renato N. Dueñas, Jr. led the Philippine delegation in a meeting organized by the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE). He was joined by Labor Attaché Atty. John Rio Bautista and officers from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) namely, Atty. Arnel G. Ramon (Director IV, Licensure Office), Dr. Julie D. Junio (Chief, Rating Division), and Mr. Wayne B. Crispin (Chief, CAR Regional Office).

The meeting invitation was extended by H.E Shayma Al Awadhi, Assistant Undersecretary for International Relations and Communications. She was joined by H.E Noora Al Marzooqi, Assistant Undersecretary for Policies and Strategy, and other officials from MOHRE as well as representatives from the Higher Colleges of Technology.

The meeting included a sharing of best practices and a meaningful discussion of areas of mutual interest. Among the topics discussed was the successful conduct of the recent Special Professional Licensure Examination (SPLE) for Overseas Filipino Workers in the Middle East which was held on 22-24 April 2023. This year marks the first conduct of SPLE in the emirate of Dubai with a total of 766 applicants from 24 different professions, and a turnout of 95.04% of actual examinees (728 examinees out of 766 applicants).

According to H.E. Alfonso Ferdinand A. Ver, Philippine Ambassador to the UAE, “The meeting served as an opportunity for the Philippine government to demonstrate its continued support for Filipinos in the UAE who desire to strengthen their credentials and professional development to remain competitive in the global labor market.” END
