DUBAI PCG SERVES 345 FILIPINOS ON FIRST SPECIAL CONSULAR DAY FOR THE YEAR
A total of 345 Filipinos were served at the first special consular day for 2024 organized by the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and Northern Emirates and Migrant Workers Office – Dubai on 16 March 2024.
16 March 2024, Dubai, UAE – The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and Northern Emirates, in partnership with the Migrant Workers Office – Dubai (MWO-Dubai), conducted its first consular outreach for the year, serving a total of 345 Overseas Filipinos.
The clients were able to avail the Consulate’s services such as the renewal of their passports; notarization of their legal documents such as special power of attorney, affidavits, and others; reporting of significant events such as birth and marriage; and securing documents such as the legal capacity to contract marriage (LCCM).
Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who needed to have their contracts verified as well as register for membership with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Social Security Services (SSS), and Pag-IBIG were able to avail the services at MWO-Dubai.
There were also registration booths at both the Consulate and MWO-Dubai for the Overseas Voters registration for the 2025 National Elections.
The special consular day is a mission conducted by the Consulate to make consular services and the services of its attached agencies available for Overseas Filipinos on a weekend to accommodate those who are unable to excuse themselves from work during the regular business days.
Notable about the special consular day is the expedited, same-day release of documents which is a great help to the clients who have urgent needs. Moreover, this service helps the client’s efficient management of their time as they are able to process their documents all in one day.
The next special consular days for the year are tentatively scheduled on 29 June, 21 September, and 23 November 2024. Notices on the upcoming consular outreach missions will be announced on the Consulate's official website.END
