10 July 2015, Dubai, UAE. Dubai PCG Consul General Paul Raymund P Cortes expressed the Consulate's strong support for the Commercial Cooking and Food Business course hosted by the POLO-OWWA office in Dubai, conducted by Filipino Executive Chef Jojo Joaquin and Ms. Rio Mercado of Agemono, the Filipino-Japanese concept restaurant chain in Dubai and Sharjah Emirates.

The Commercial Cooking and Food Business Course is held every month at the POLO-OWWA center in coordination with Filipino chefs/trainers based in the UAE in four (4) or more sessions. Eleven (11) enrollees who are also wards in the POLO-OWWA Migrant Workers and Other Filipinos Resource Center or MWOFRC are currently enrolled at the course.

According to Chef Joaquin, of the soon to open Little Manila food court franchise in Dubai, course participants are trained on the use of more affordable food ingredients and on cooking techniques similar to fast food/Filipino eatery setting.
