05 December 2015 – Members of the Filipino community in Dubai celebrated the “The Bayanihan Festival 2015” at the Al Mamzar Park on 04 December 2015 which was organized under the auspices of the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.  The festival is one of the events being looked forward to by Filipinos in Dubai because it is a chance to get together and celebrate and commemorate the UAE National Day and the Christmas season. The event was organized by the Bayanihan Festival 2015 Organizing Committee from different sectors of the Filipino community. 

The program started with a ribbon cutting ceremony by Madam Yasmin Cortes, wife of Consul General Paul Raymund P. Cortes. Deputy Consul General Giovanni E. Palec gave his remarks and the Consulate staff and their families attended to support and watch the different presentations.  The whole day event was packed with activities such as performances from Philippine schools, choir and dance competitions, job fair and sports fest.

The event was highlighted by  a variety show in the evening wherein actor Dennis Trillo was the special performer. END
