The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and Northern Emirates wishes to inform all Filipinos regarding possibly dangerous goods carried by passengers and crew such as small lithium battery-powered personal transportation devices such as hover boards, self-balancing single or multi-wheels, and mini segways as cargo or checked-in and/or carry-on baggage in air freights. Reports received by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines indicate that some small lithium battery-powered personal transportation devices are prone to catching fire. In this regard, the said devices are required to be carried by the passenger in the cabin where any untoward incident involving such items can be immediately mitigated in the interest of general aviation safety.
