01 July 2017, Dubai, U.A.E. Philippine Consul General Paul Raymund P. Cortes led the Knights of Rizal Emarat Dubai Chapter’s commemoration of the 156th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal held at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Dubai. KCR Louie James T. Bendanillo, Dubai Chapter Commander, and some 70 members of Dubai’s KOR Chapter and their guests participated in the 4-hour program. Consul General Cortes delivered the Keynote Address where he challenged the KOR to cultivate a greater awareness of Rizal, his works, philosophies, and legacy to the Filipino youth that have seen the rise of modern day heroes. He urged them keep the Rizalian tradition alive especially among Overseas Filipino children who now hold a special role in furthering the Filipino spirit in the midst of an ever more globalized world.
