Vice Consuls Marianne Bringas and Elizabeth Ramos of the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and Northern Emirates had a dialogue with the Dubai police authorities on 17 July 2017 at the Murraqabat Police Station.
Col. Eisa Ahmed Salim Ahmed, Assistant Director of Murraqabat Police Station, discussed common police issues faced by Filipinos in Dubai such as petty crimes, immorality cases and bank/money cases. The Consulate and police officials also explored various areas of cooperation.
Col. Ahmed lauded the Philippine Consulate's efforts to educate overseas Filipinos in the UAE by spearheading legal seminars to discuss new laws and common legal and police issues of Filipino expatriates, and by effectively using social media to disseminate announcements and information on new government pronouncements.
According to the police official, they are planning to hold regular meetings with Consulate representatives regarding updates in UAE laws and regulations.END
