05 November 2017, Dubai, U.A.E. --- Philippine Consul General in Dubai participated in the Sharjah International Book Fair's (SIBF) Kabayan Fun Day held on 04 November 2017 at the Shajrah Expo Center. The SIBF is a semi-annual exhibit of books around the world and is the Emirate of Sharjah’s avenue to foster love of reading and literature for the youth.

Some 4000 Filipinos took part of the event which included an OPM Singing Competition, a Speech Choir Competition, On the Spot Painting Competition, and many others.

The SIBF organizers expressed hope that Philippine publishers could participate in next year's fair scheduled April 2018. END
