05 November 2017, Dubai, U.A.E. – Philippine Consul General in Dubai Paul Raymund Cortes led the Philippine Consulate General's participation in the Philippine Business Council (PBC) Dubai's Interface 2017 at the Millennium Hotel in Dubai. PBC Dubai’s Interface is a forum that brings together Philippine businesses together with local UAE authorities, the business community of Dubai and the Northern Emirates, and other influencers and policy makers.
Atiq Juma Faraj Nasib, Senior Vice Press of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, delivered the Welcome Remarks and expressed the fullest of support to this initiative with the hopes that Filipino participation in Dubai’s business environment continues to grow and becomes a more active segment of the city’s already diverse business milieu.
Consul General Cortes, who was also part of the Panelists discussing the Market Trends of 2018, stressed that while the private sector's task is to build and create the market for good and services, it is the government's task to lead and inspire its constituency to foster an atmosphere that is conducive to innovation, growth, sustainability, and further human development. He also urged the audience of 300 to continue ensuring that the ultimate goal of a developing economy is to propel humanity forward, allowing people to live better than its previous generations.
The Consulate and PBC Dubai has teamed up to vigorously campaign for more events and activities that would bring many Filipinos to join the business community of Dubai and the NE with the end view of expanding its market to include the 191 other ethnicities and nationalities in the UAE. It plans and strategizes along with the PBC Executive Committee its programs and has always partnered with them on various events and forums. END
