28 January 2018, Dubai – DFA Secretary Alan Peter S. Cayetano turned over two (2) mobile passport data capturing machines (DCMs) to Consul General Paul Raymund P. Cortes during the gathering of DFA officials with the Filipino community of Milan, Italy on 28 January 2018.
The Secretary and Consul General Cortes are both in Milan for the Command Conference with the Heads of Post from Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The additional DCMs will increase the Consulate’s capacity to process more passport applications daily.
In 2017, the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai processed a total of 71,566 passports, registering a 4 percent increase in the number of passports processed in the previous year. The Consulate captures the data of around 320-340 passport applicants daily. The new DCMs will enable the Consulate to further improve its services to Filipinos in Dubai and Northern Emirates by being able to accommodate more passport applicants. END
