Dubai, UAE, 17 July 2018 — The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai Post reports that it hosted a Town Hall Meeting / Press Conference on 17 July 2018 to discuss how to further strengthen the already active Consulate-Community collaboration in its cultural and community events. The meeting was also an opportunity to meet Mr. Clem Marnel Burgos, Grand Champion of the 5th International Competition of Arts and Culture held at Yerevan, Armenia last 09 July 2018.

Some 80 community leaders participated in the meeting, acknowledging that the Consulate and the Community could do much more in support of our cultural diplomacy strategy and programs. The Consulate and the Community had just recently finished two very successful cultural and community events – the 15 June Philippine Independence Day Celebrations where over 45,000 participated and the 06 July Limasawa Program with the Leyte Normal University.

Mr. Burgos narrated how the Filipino Community in Yerevan and the Philippine Embassy in Moscow threw their fullest support to his participation in the competition. He expressed his deepest appreciation to Ambassador Carlos Sorreta of Moscow PE and to the Filipino Community in Dubai for providing him a chance to showcase his talent and passion for the arts to the global Filipino community.
