09 January 2019, Dubai, UAE --- The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates met with representatives of the Philippine Schools Overseas based in Dubai and the Northern Emirates yesterday 08 January 2019 to renew its commitment of active engagement with these schools and with the overseas Filipino youth.

Among the action points discussed included proposals for specific activities for 2019, the continuation of programs as in previous years, new initiatives in collaboration with other Filipino professionals in Dubai, and prospects for further training of Filipino teachers.

The Consulate’s interactions and collaboration with these schools are under its Rizal Forum network which includes participation of Filipino students in various consulate-led activities. It Consulate has always had strong and frequent engagements with the schools and Filipino youth primarily as it believes that a stronger awareness of Filipino culture among the overseas Filipino youth is crucial to spreading and promoting our heritage not only to second generation Filipinos but more so to other ethnicities and nationalities as well.
